Marco Polo not only made an impact on the immediate generations following him, but forged a vital link between East and West, which we still benefit from today. He created an exchange of cultural knowledge, and key trade links between two diverse cultures, each complimenting the other, eventually bringing about the famous silk trade routes. With curiosity, desire and necessity to interact, trade of all types ensued.
Two continents prospered enormously by this interaction.
