PROFESSIONAL, PERSONAL LOGISTIC SERVICES ACROSS INTERNATIONAL BOUNDERIES
MarcoPoloLine, hereafter referred to as MPL, has been formed to create a worldwide network of member companies, to the benefit of each other, all united under the MPL banner.
The principals of MPL are to generate business, offer a vehicle of assistance between members, provide a high quality cost efficient service to clients, including competent skilled worldwide logistics and global transportation.
MEMBERSHIP CRITERIA
- Applications are restricted to companies whose prime business is that of a Freight Forwarder.
- The Freight Forwarding Company must have been established for a minimum of one year.
- Applications must be accompanied by a Certificate from their local Chamber of Commerce, showing evidence the Company is bona fide and incorporated under the laws of its resident country.
- The Application Form must be completed, signed and dated by an authorised representative of the applying Company, ensuring all questions are accurately answered. (see Rules and Regulations).
- The application must include the name and address of at least one current MPL member (as indicated on the Application Form).
- Membership of MPL is at the discretion of the MPL Board of Directors.
- By submitting the completed Application Form, the applying Company is legally bound to the Rules and Regulations of MarcoPoloLine* (see below) and adheres to the highest professional conduct and ethics, which defines MPL.
NOTE
MPL members are encouraged to work together in the course of their business, but are not obliged to do so.
MPL members are not obliged to use MPL freight rates negotiated by MPL.
RULES AND REGULATIONS
- Members are bound to maintain the good standing name and reputation of MPL, which includes mutual respect between Members.

- The MPL Member undertakes to peform in a conscientious, efficient manner, all services undertaken on its client’s behalf and to discharge its duties with honesty and integrity.

- The MPL Member pledges to hold in strict confidence information concerning the business affairs of its clients.

- The MPL Member upholds a duty to its client by not withdrawing service, only under exceptional circumstances and gives adequate notice.

- Each MPL Member agrees that claims for loss or damage to freight shall be immediately filed with the Member responsible for such loss or damage. The claim shall be promptly and accurately processed by the responsible Member.

- The MPL Member agrees to abide by the confidentiality of all matters pertaining to MarcoPoloLine.

- The MPL Member agrees to observe all relevant laws of its resident country, regarding the movement of goods entrusted to it.
By request, the Board of Directors will act as an Arbitration Committee, in general matters, when a dispute arises between any MPL members.

- Bad debts must be communicated to info@marcopololine.com to be resolved by the Arbitration Committee. Whilst MPL is not responsible for bad debts between Members, the board retains the right to take any action it sees fit.

- The MPL Member acknowledges that all payments to other members, must be made strictly in accordance with the terms of payment agreed in advance with each other.

- The MPL Member agrees not to have any business dealings with expelled and/or black listed ex-MPL members, otherwise it would jeopardise its own membership.
A member can be expelled from MarcoPoloLine, for any of the following:
- Non payment of annual subscription fee
- Providing false information
- Bad debt(s) incurred with other MPL member(s).
- The Board of Directors have the right to terminate a membership, and is not obligated to give justification.

- The MPL Member further agrees that the Terms and Conditions, may be amended from time to time, but as incorporated, herein, are binding..
- As a precondition to becoming an MPL Member, every prospective Member Company is required to submit to the Board a completed Application Form, signed and dated. Upon approval by the Board of Directors, payment must be made for the appropriate sum, which is non-refundable, and representing the full amount for the first year’s dues.
