We are a company of Murchison Group, we began our operations in Uruguay in 1985, as representatives of Shipping lines in overseas traffic and Shipping Agent. Afterwards, we started operating on Port stevedoring and related tasks.
In early 1997, aware of the importance that logistics had acquired in the country, we decided to withdraw from exclusive Port activity, and concentrate our resources on providing general logistics services.
Our vision was confirmed when, in little more than three years, we became leaders in our genre, as a result of strong growth in business and in customers. This demonstrates the quality and reliability of the services we provide.
We have two strategically located distribution centers.

We provide international transport of goods, we transport goods belonging to our customers.
Our goal is to efficiently meet the needs of international transportation of our customers, regardless of the size of the load, always trying to be the best option for moving goods to and from the outside, we take products to markets that our customers want to reach. We carry out air, sea and road freights. We work with the network Marcopololine Agents, in this way, obtaining the best rates, through our work together.
In regard to Project cargo, we are experts in providing solutions for special loads, with the possibility that the goods arrive at the port of Montevideo or Terminal ZÃ¡rate, in the port of Zarate, Argentina, which is owned by the company.
In addition to providing the international carriage of the goods, we provide an integral service, which includes the transportation of the container from and to the port, plus the possibility to store the goods of our client, both in a national warehouse, or in a bonded warehouse .
Thus, we complete the logistics chain for each shipment.
In 1897, Captain John Murchison, Canadian commander of merchant ships, founded in Buenos Aires the first Murchison company of stowing and port services.
We have over one hundred years of experience in the area, and nearly thirty years in Uruguay.
We are a family company, formed by a group of companies that perform several different activities, and each one is set as a particular company.
From 2014, all companies were consolidated under the family brand Murchison Group, allowing that each one can be presented as part of a solid group of companies, with strong experience and track record.
This strengthening of the image gives us the possibility to introduce ourselves as a group of companies that know what they do and how they do it.
Being part of a group, allows us to offer a mix of services, which includes both what we do in Uruguay, as well as what our colleagues do in Argentina and Paraguay, thus we can take advantage of the synergy generated when working in group.
In ZÃ¡rate, Argentina, we have a private port owned by the company, with over 200 hectares, it leads the movement of vehicles, with approximately 700 thousand units moved per year, with 46.000 vehicles parked permanently. In addition we operate ships with containers and project cargo. Also in Argentina, we have presence in almost all the country\\\\\\\'s ports, we do the fishing in the south, minerals, fruit in RÃo Negro, facilities in Puerto Madryn and we own a fleet of ships. In Buenos Aires we have two logistics terminals one facing Aeroparque with 80 hectares, and another in Madero Sur. Among the company\\\\\\\'s business, we have; bonded warehouses and national warehouses, feeder barge lines, and RO-RO vessel, for transportation of vehicles.
Murchison (Uruguay) S.A. is a company certified by Quality Management.
On February 7th, 2006, we obtained our first Quality Certification according to the requirements of ISO 9001: 2008. We are also certified in Occupational Safety and Health under the OHSAS 18001: 2007, an international standard that defines the requirements related to the system of health and safety labor, to control risks and improve performance in the workplace.
Each year we receive external audits, in which the operation of our management system is checked, in order to determine whether we are apt to renew or recertify both standards. We also perform internal audits in order to monitor compliance with these standards of quality and safety we strive to maintain.
Our philosophy lies in working every day to consolidate us, as a Logistics Operator for excellence, by promoting and developing quality.
