Despite disruption caused by the Covid-19 pandemic and the ongoing blockade placed on the country by some of its neighbors, Qatar Airways is celebrating becoming the largest cargo airline in the world (excluding express operator UPS). Qatar has been under blockage from the UAE, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and Egypt, amongst other for the past three years over allegations of the country supporting terrorism. IATA statistics show Qatar Cargo last year become the larges cargo airline in the world, moving up from second place in 2018.
